Reduce, Recycle, Reuse & Renew

Everybody knows driving a hybrid or biking to work will stretch your gas dollar, but did you know your carpet can do the same thing?

The three-generation ownership team at Coyle Carpet knows. In fact, they’ve long known the benefits of thinking green, as evidenced by their ten-year track record of reconstituting carpet pads through Reynolds Recycling.

“For over ten years, our pads have not gone into landfills,” says General Manager Paul Dominie. “We are now recycling between 22,000 and 29,000 square feet of carpet and pad every week.” And it doesn’t stop there. Internal initiatives have long been in place at Coyle, such as wide-spread reduction in paper usage and cutting edge PowerSwitch technology throughout the office. In fact, Coyle is beginning to make purchasing decisions based on this smaller carbon footprint mentality, just as two of its manufacturers, Shaw Industries and Mohawk Industries, are rolling out brand new, eco-friendly lines.

“The Coyle family has always thought of their business as part of a larger community,” says Dominie. “Anything they can do that helps the whole just makes sense.”
