Project:

Bold Balance | Modern Farmhouse

Completed 2021

Timeless beauty and bold design balanced with natural wood and stone finishes.

Floor & Home Highlights

Bold, Black Balances Wood Tones & Whites

The kitchen is enlivened with bold, contrasting combinations of black, wood tones, and stone. Black cabinets allow for a bold room with strong focal points. Whereas rift-cut white oak cabinets incorporate an organic feel to the design.

In the back of the kitchen, at the butler’s pantry, white oak floating shelves add warmth to the pantry and provide space for display. The countertop can serve as a bar or buffet. A 2-in. x 10-in. white matte brick tile takes up a home as a backsplash in the butler’s pantry.

Contrasting Countertops

At the kitchen island, a white countertop in color Calacatta Novello contrasts with a dark & moody Black Marquis countertop opposite of the kitchen island. Clean edges add a modern note. Countertop color choice helps keep the focus on the island and pendants.

Modern Farmhouse | Wood-look Plank Floors

Vinyl plank floors give prominence to the farmhouse feel; with wood textures, graining, and even saw marks.

En Suite Bath

Located off of the owner’s bedroom, a custom shower takes center stage with a 16-in. x 47-in. large format tile in the style, Floret. Large format tile is often easier to clean to maintain due to fewer grout joints. A 12-in. x 24-in. matte finish porcelain tile in the style, Costar, provides the esthetics of marble stone floors.
